Question: What is the difference between Premium membership and Basic membership?
Answer:
Go Premium and receive all the benefits Oilogosphere has to offer:
a. Premium Bloggers will view website with minimal advertising.
b. Have a signature for the end of your blog (*coming soon)
c. Your blogs will be shaded to stand out among basic bloggers.
d. Only Premium Bloggers qualify to earn achievement trophies on website.
e. Chance to win the monthly prizes.
f. Further your exposure by earning 3 Stars of the week and/or MVB (most valuable blogger) of the month and/or season. We will name 3 stars each week, their profile and image will be placed on the home page. The MVB is the premium member with the most points at the end of the month and they will earn the monthly prize. The Most Valuable Blogger of the season will be placed on the home page as the defending Stanley Cup champion. This will be posted for the entire duration of the following season furthering your exposure to viewership and better opportunity to continue winning.
g. Don't get a long with somebody? Block other users from comments/rating of your blogs.
h. Need a few more points to win the month prize? Pay a small fee to feature your blog for 3 days to 1 week. A featured blog will remain in i. highlighted box on the home page (*coming soon) and at the top of the My Oilogosphere page for the duration you select.
j. Be a part of the social club. Oilogosphere will organize get togethers at local destinations. Next social gathering will be held at a local pub (to be determined) for a draft party on June 22nd.

You receive stars by readers voting on your blog. For example, if a user gives you 3 stars out of 5 and another users offers 4 stars out of 5 you have now receive 7 stars in total. You can also receive stars by commenting, rating blogs of others, number of unique views your blog receives and for referring premium members to this site.

Question: How do I earn points?
Answer: You receive stars by other users voting on your blog. For example, if a user gives you 3 stars out of 5 and another users offers 4 stars out of 5 you have now receive 7 stars in total.
You can also receive stars by commenting, rating blogs of others, number of unique views your blog receives and for referring premium members to this site:

Question : How many stars do I need to earn trophies?
Answer : Following conditions for earning trophies:
Clarence S. Campbell Bowl – 1600 stars
Calder Cup – 1000 stars
Memorial Cup – 700 stars
Mac's Cup – 575 stars
Bantam Trophy – 375 points
Peewee Trophy – 200 points
Novice Medal – 100 points
(The Most Valuable Blogger of the season will win a special trophy and be promoted on the home page for the following season )
Question : If I am the months MVB, how do I receive my prize?
Answer : The site will automatically claim you as the winner and it will post your username and image on the home page. We will then contact you through your Oilogosphere inbox on site and request your mailing address. The prize will be shipped promptly there after.
Question : There are some people I don't get along with on the site. I'm afraid they will purposely give me poor ratings on my blogs. What can I do about this?
Answer : We've got you covered. You can simply block them. This option is under your account. Blocked members can not message you, leave comments or rate your blogs.
Question : Do I have to subscribe to a premium membership to blog?
Answer : No. Anyone can blog on Oilogosphere.com. However, you will not qualify for prizes or take advantage of all the features Oilogosphere has to offer.
Question : I have an idea for a blog that I want to write but it's not about the Oilers. Will the blog be deleted?
Answer : No. You can write about whatever you want. However, if your blog is of very poor quality or it only serves to advertise, spam, slander, or to offend we may remove it.

Question : How do I know if I referred a member and how will I get the money?
Answer : You can keep track of your referrals by looking at your statistics found under "My Account". There you will see points for referrals. If you receive 50 points than you referred one member for one season, that will you earn you $5. Share your referral link and keep track of your points. When you receive the 50 points let us know and give us your paypal email address, we will send you payment promptly.
Question : How do I edit my blog?
Answer : You can edit your blog by going to "My Account" under the tab "Edit Blogs". Many of your options are found under "My Account" such as your message box, blog drafts, scheduled blogs, users you've blocked, who you follow and who are following you.
Question : I am writing a blog but didn't have time to finish it, can it be saved for later?
Answer : A blog can be saved as a draft and be continued at a later date.
Question : I only have time to write blogs on the weekend, can I submit multiple blogs at once and can I have them post to the site at different dates?
Answer : You have a limit of blogs you can write per week and the number of blogs you have left for the week are shown under "Write Blog" page. You can only submit one blog within the hour live to the site (this is to eliminate spamming), however you can write as many blogs as you want by designating a date to the blog. The time, month and day you designate to a blog will than determine when this blog posts to the site. For example: you want to write three blogs and submit one blog to be immediately posted, the second blog for tomorrow, and the third blog next week.
